Influence of Pre-strain on Very-Low-Cycle Stress–Strain Response and Springback Behavior

Abstract The influence of pre-strain on the very-low-cycle loading behavior as occurring, for example during roller leveling sheet metals, is not yet fully understood. A key factor in this context stiffness material and its changes upon processing. To study general mechanical property low-cycle with small amplitudes a wide variety samples mild steel DC01, pure copper CU-DHP α -titanium are subjected to tension–compression tests. influences applied strain amplitude investigated regarding hardening elastic properties. It shown that all tested materials feature Bauschinger cycling. apparent modulus decreases increasing accumulated plastic strain, evolution depends pre-strain. For three materials, technical springback present depend history.
